For New Yorkers, especially for artists and Long Island City residents, 5 Pointz was a place famous for its walls covered with graffiti art done by local artists. It was a famous photo spot for many tourists. It was also a popular spot for photographers and filmmakers. In 2013, the owner decided to demolish 5 Pointz and replace it with a residential complex. Without any warning, the murals were white washed overnight. These photos were taken just days before it became history.
